Mikkel specializes in public affairs, stakeholder dialogue, and strategic communication—especially within climate, energy, infrastructure, circular economy, and environment. He has many years of experience as a manager and advisor at the top level, both from the organizational world and from the consultancy industry, where he has assisted organizations, authorities, and companies with strategy and policy development, agenda-setting, and stakeholder management.
In particular, he has a flair for analyzing political issues and finding ways forward in complex stakeholder landscapes. These qualities make him a respected advisor who creates value for clients who need to develop a new strategic position or solve regulatory challenges.
He has previously worked as Managing Director of the Danish Municipal Waste Companies' Association, where he handled the dialogue with decision-makers in the Danish Parliament, ministries, pan-European associations, and other stakeholders, acted as a spokesperson, and led the organization's strategy and policy development.
Most recently, Mikkel has been a chief advisor at Danish Regions, where he was engaged in the green transition of the healthcare system, climate adaptation, and raw material extraction on land. Before that, he worked at a consultancy firm where he advised clients on strategic communication and public affairs related to the green transition.
