In order to increase Danes’ participation in the national parish church council election, we decided to rewrite the lyrics of an old hymn and tell, or actually sing, the message most beautifully.
Insight
The sense of community you get from singing together has been known to Danish congregations for almost 500 years, where community singing has been a cornerstone of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark. The many communities around Danish congregations are strengthened when as many as possible participate and in which it’s great to be part.
Solution
COMMUNITY SINGING IN FOCUS
Use your voice and participate! That was the message when the National Association of Parish Councils arranged the parish council election on the same day across Denmark for the first time. We helped write new lyrics to an old hymn, which the Herstedøster Church Girls’ Choir and the Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir boys performed most beautifully.
